it happened

Well, I have been waiting for this since school started (when the triplets were split into two different classes), and it finally arrived in the form of a Batman birthday party invitation.

The invitation appeared in Jasmine's backpack one day after school (Jasmine is the one who is in her own class while her sisters are together in the other Pre-K class), marking the first time that an invitation has not included all three girls.

Dnt,Dnt...
(that's supposed to be the sound from Law & Order or some other ominous sound)

I decided to remain calm and simply to pose the issue to my triplets and see how they would respond. I didn't know what to expect...I didn't know if Cinderella and S. Judy would feel slighted...or if Jasmine would not want to go to the party without them???

Jasmine asked me to read the invitation to her so she could hear for herself what it said exactly:

Karate and Cake
David's 5th Birthday Party
at
Martial Arts Studio
(date) (time) (address)

Jasmine did not want to go.

But not because her sisters wouldn't be going. She didn't want to go because, as she put it, "I don't know how to do Karate, and I don't even like Batman."

Fortunately, I was able to convince her that it would be fun and she would be with all her friends from her class, and just as fortunately, my other two girls were perfectly content not to be going.

Their final words on the matter...

Cinderella: "Jasmine, are you sure you know what you're doing? I don't think Karate is going to be as easy as you think it is."

Jasmine: "Yes, Cinderella. I'm sure."
